About our EMT Academy
Several times a year, Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority, West Virginia’s largest and most progressive public provider of Emergency, Non-Emergency Services, and Mobile Integrated Health Services, offers an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, compassionate, and organized individuals who want a rewarding career in EMS.
The EMT Academy is full time, Monday through Friday, primarily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class lasts approximately six weeks. Upon successful completion of the course, students take the National Registry EMT Exam. Continued employment is contingent on successfully obtaining National Registry EMT certification. Applicants must be eligible to work any assigned position following certification as an EMT.
